Trailblazer, advocate, and community builder, Cohen Glaw is a 2Spirit/Transgender male, husband, father, and chef with a passion for event planning.
As the founder of Binbrook Pride and Qmmunity Binbrook, Cohen has significantly impacted the 2SLGBTQ community.
Since coming out as transgender, he created Trans Fellas, an online and worldwide support network for Trans, NonBinary, and Gender-Queer individuals, where he shares his transition journey and provides vital information.
Cohen has been a dedicated volunteer for over 10 years, creating meet-ups for transgender folks in Hamilton and Binbrook. His efforts led to the establishment of Binbrook Pride, which became the only in-person Pride event in Southern Ontario during the pandemic.
Qmmunity Binbrook, initially started as a social and support meet-up, faced challenges due to COVID-19 but was revived through Cohen’s determination and passion. Growing up in a small town, Cohen experienced the feeling of being out of place and alone. This personal experience fueled his drive to provide resources and support for the 2SLGBTQ community in Binbrook.
Friends and acquaintances reached out to him for advice and resources, highlighting the need for a supportive community network. Through his leadership, Cohen has organized events and provided over $5,000 worth of trans-related projects to the global trans community.
Cohen’s contributions extend beyond local efforts. His initiative, Trans Fellas, has created a global support network, fostering a sense of belonging and community for transgender individuals worldwide.
His unwavering commitment to the 2SLGBTQ community and his innovative approach to community building have made a significant impact. Cohen Glaw’s dedication to creating inclusive spaces and providing support to those in need is truly inspiring. His leadership and passion have not only strengthened the community in Binbrook but also provided a global network of support.
We proudly welcome Cohen to the Canadian Wall of Honour, celebrating his remarkable contributions and unwavering commitment to the 2SLGBTQ community.
